How to Measure for Your Custom Halter
Measure for each piece of the halter with a soft measuring tape -or using a bit of soft string/twine, making the string and then measuring your marks.
Crownpiece, A to B: Measure from behind the ear at or just below eye level, over the poll and to the same spot on the other side, add 10-12” for room to tie.

Throatlatch, A to C: From behind the ear at or just below eyelevel, measure behind and under the jowl to about the middle point between the cheeks. Allow 2-3” of room for the halter to hang loosely.

Gullet, C to D: From the middle point between the cheeks down to the middle of the jaw, about half to 2/3 of the distance between the cheek and chin.

Chin Strap, D to E: From the middle of the jaw, about half to 2/3 of the distance between the cheek and chin, to 2-3 fingers width in front of the cheekbone. Allow 3-5” for the halter to hang loosely and the horse to be able to open its mouth to yawn comfortably.

Noseband, E to F: Measure from approx. 2-3 fingers width in font of the cheekbone from one side to the other.

Cheek Piece, A to E: Measure from behind the ear at or just below eye level, to 2-3 fingers width in font of the cheekbone.
